In the May 5 Kentucky Derby, Point Given was a dismal fifth -- a stark contrast to his super-impressive performance in Saturday's 133rd Belmont Stakes. The son of 1995 Derby and Belmont winner Thunder Gulch romped home under jockey Gary Stevens, 12 1/4 lengths in front of the Nick Zito-trained runner-up, A P Valentine. It was the fourth-fastest Belmont ever: 2:26 2/5.
